苗晓东博士毕业于威斯康星大学麦迪迅分校地理系,该系全美排名第二;曾12年工作于伊利诺依大学香槟分校伊州地质调查局,任副第四纪地质学者(副教授);多年从事中国和美国的黄土、沙地、河流和冰川的年代学、沉积学和环境考古领域的学习和研究工作;2020年5月入选Elsevier发布的“2019年中国高被引学者”名单;2021获得国家自然科学基金面上项目资助;现为地学三区杂志Frontier in Earth Sciences审稿主编(review editor)
